Pleated Tote v Get Carried Away Tote

So one of my readers (Beverly) emailed in and asked about the difference between the Pleated Tote and the Get Carried Away Tote so that she could pick one to use for school. Luckily I have both, so instead of just replying to her, I thought that I would share it with all of you.

The GCA is filled with my work laptop, a clipboard, a bag of random stuff, a shirt, packs of gum and a few other random things. The PT is filled with my laptop, two magazines, water bottle, small cosmetic with my GPS in it, wristlet filled with random stuff, my sunglass case and Turn Lock Wallet.

I dont think that this picture does the size difference any justice. The GCA is much bigger than the PT. GCA dimensions are 18.25 x 15.5 x 7.5 and the PT dimensions are 14.75 x 14 x5.25.

I decided to take a picture in the mirror so you could get a better idea of the size when you have them on your shoulder.

In the end I think that the Pleated Tote is a better choice depending on how much stuff you carry. The Get Carried Away might be too big. What bag do you use for school or work?

So last night I posted a picture that Dawn sent in from a father, son and daughter hunting trip, which inspired Brittany to send in a picture of her VB Cupcakes Pleated Tote and her coordinating pink digital camo P22. I guess this proves that Vera works for just about any occasion. Thanks Brittany!Which inspired me to post a picture of my with my Dad and sister when we went shooting for the first time back in August.

Yeah, I know there is no Vera in this picture, but I can assure you that there was Vera in the car :) We went to Lake Henshaw and shot at clay targets. From Vera Bradley bags and scrapbooking to riffles and camo hats...I guess I am just diverse like that :)

Flying Home

Mom and I are flying home from Sacramento and I just realised that we both have our Pleated Totes, I will let you guess which one belongs to each of us. We had a great trip to Sacramento for the weekend and had a great time seeing all of our family and friends. I can't wait to come back soon!

Too much Vera?

This week has been one of those weeks where I have pondered if I do in fact own too much Vera. My place is pretty small and it seems like when I don’t have a place to put something it ends up on my dining room table and the busier I am, the most stuff it seems to collect. I walked in the door this week and as I made my way to the dining room table all I could see was the Vera that somehow had started to collect there. My Mod Floral Blue Tote, Cupcakes Pink Pleated Tote, Make Me Blush Charleston Tote, Seaside Port Tote and my Night Owl Wristlet were all at the table, most had taken over a chair. I looked at it all sitting there and wondered if I was really getting enough use out of all my bags. But I think that the fact that they were all out of the closet meant that they had recently been in my Vera rotation, so indeed I was getting use out of them. That only leads me to think of all the Vera in the closet. While I do have a lot of Vera, I do think that I do a pretty good job using it all. Lately my spending has slowed down and I haven’t really been adding that much to it. I still want a purse in Simply Violet, but I am in no rush. Maybe in the next round of retiring items I can pick something up.

Shopped 'til I dropped

Yesterday the good deals online got the best of me and I finally gave in. I bought the Trip Kit and Curling Iron Cover from QVC. I wasnt going to buy the set since I already have a Curling Iron Cover, but I really wanted the Trip Kit and it was cheaper to buy the pair from QVC than to buy just the Trip Kit from Vera Bradley. I can always use the Curling Iron Cover as a gift or sell it on ebay.

Then there was free shipping on Verabradley.com if you spent more than $75. I have been wanting an Angle Tote since they came out, so I finally got one! I bought one in Night and Day and I cant wait for it to arrive! I bought a pack of Cupcakes Pink Thank You cards, which brought my total to $75 exactly! Score!

I can't wait for it all to arrive in the mail! Hopefully they all arrive next week!

Handmade Vera Pins

So one of the things that I ordered were these really pretty, fun Vera flower pins. I ordered one in Cupcakes Pink and one in Mod Floral Blue. I have a bunch of Cupcakes Pink bags, so I am excited to add it to my bags. I ordered the Mod Floral Blue one to wear to work, which might happen today, or maybe this weekend.

Lets find a cure for breast cancer!

I’ve decided to make it Breast Cancer Awareness Weekend here at OhMyVera! As my friends and family know I signed up to walk in the Breast Cancer 3 Day Walk again this year! Last year was my first time participating and it was such an amazing experience! Vera Bradley has the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer. They always have a print out that they give 10% of the proceeds to their foundation. I will post more about that this weekend.

I am so excited my new Vera Bradley stuff arrived today! I got such a good deal on it, so Mom, don’t worry that I am spending too much!

First off everything was 25% off. Then I had a coupon for $25 off any purchase over $100. And lastly I was able to get the Quickstep Wallet for $15, which was what put me over the $100.

Reselling Vera Bradley bags I found on craigslist

Once I started buying Vera on ebay I realized that there is a pretty big market for reselling it. At first I couldn’t imagine selling any of my bags! I also started looking on craigslist, but in San Diego there are never very many listed. One time I was lucky enough to find a Cupcakes Pink Villager for $5! I was shocked. That bag retails for $72. I emailed them right away and was able to purchase it. It was quite an adventure picking it up. It was in a rough part of town that I had never been too. The way that I knew for sure it was bad part of town was that there was a pit bull in the front yard. Nothing says welcome like a pit bull. The bag is just like new. She maybe used it a couple of times. The Villager is not really my style so I decided to list it on ebay to see how much I could make. It sold for $33! Pretty good deal!

So I decided to keep looking to see if I could find any other great deals. I was feeling pretty limited by the listings in San Diego and I have a few really good friends in San Francisco so I decided to look on the craigslist up there. Well sure enough I found a Piccadilly Plum Large Duffel in like new condition for $20. I knew there was a high demand for Piccadilly Plum so I asked my friend Melissa to pick it up for me. On her lunch break she had to go across town to pick it up, what a trooper! I went up to visit SF later that month and picked up the bag. When I got home I listed it on ebay immediately and it sold for $61!

Those are the only bags I have purchased off of craigslist, but I still keep a look out for good deals. Although now I just look in San Diego, so that I am not tempted to send Melissa on a lunchtime adventure to pick up bags for me.
