A trips worth of Vera!

Last weekend I was in Northern California to go to a wedding.  I always take a lot of Vera with me and this trip was no exception.  The only two pieces that matched were my new 3 Pocket Tote and Double ID Wristlet in Happy Snails, the rest was a crazy assortment.  You can definitely say that I am not matchy-matchy.  The other bags - Metropolitan in Deco Daisy, Ditty Bag in Pinwheel Pink, Small Bow Cosmetic in Riviera Blue, Large Cosmetic in Raspberry Fizz, Jewelry Case in Pink Pansy, CLutch in Vera Vera, Tech Case in Poppy Fields.  And yeah, you might have noticed that is not a Vera in the back, I didnt want to move it out of the picture, plus it is a great bag!  It is an Adventure Duffel from LL Bean.  It was on sale for $25!!! It is probably about the same size as a Large Duffel, but it is a medium.  And I can check it and not worry about my cotton bag getting ruined! Wonderful. And it still stands out on the luggage carousel.
LOTS of Vera!

One of the questions that I get the most is why do I love Vera Bradley bags.  I love them because they are colorful, fun, light, easy to take care of bags.  But while I was walking through the airport I realized another reason that I have always liked Vera Bradley bags.  It is the same reason that Barbara and Patricia started making them...we need feminine luggage! I love that even if I am just wearing jeans and a t-shirt I can use a Vera Bradley bag and still feel feminine! Genius! I do love me some Vera!

Old Colors in New Styles!

Maybe you have already seen this on verabradley.com, but if not you might be interested in this. Vera Bradley has been making some of its newer style bags in colors that were previously thought of as retired. Maybe we were the only ones that considered them retired though. This is great news for some of you who love Mesa Red, Riviera, Botanica, Pinwheel Pink and Peacock! Click on the linked names to go to the VB website to check them out!

For example the Get Carried Away Tote, it is being made in Mesa Red, Riviera, Botanica, Pinwheel Pink and Peacock! Those colors were already retired (or on sale) when they started producing the Get Carried Away Tote. Those colors are also on sale for $66.

Another example is the newly restyled Hipster that is now in Mesa Red, Botanica, Riviera, Night Owl, Pinwheel Pink and Peacock! Those originally were made in the older style hipster. Those are on sale for $42.

Also check out the Lets Do Lunch, I believe the baby bag was restyled since these colors were retired (I could be wrong) and PLEATED TOTE!!!

If you see any other styles that werent created yet when these colors were out, please share in the comments.

I can't take credit for this discovery. Some of my Vera friends were talking about it and a couple Oh My Vera readers let me know as well. Thanks everyone!

Happy Shopping!

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas!

Yesterday I set up my Christmas tree and decorations! Last year I got an amazing deal on this fake tree. Only $35, the reviews were great, except for on that gave it low stars because they said it looked fake...well duh. I am pretty happy with my tree. Cover it with enough ornaments and no is going to pay attention to if it is real or not.

I loaded it up with all my ornaments...3 of which are Vera Bradley! I thought that I had purchased on last year after Christmas, but on review of my Christmas boxes, I didn't. I just bought them for my mom. But I do have Raspberry Fizz, Pinwheel Pink and Very Berry Paisley. Last year I did buy myself a Symphony in Hue Stocking! I love that stocking, they are so pretty. Allow me to suggest that they come out with tree skirts! Wouldnt that be great! That is on my list to buy, but I might just use a VB Beach Towel in the mean time.

My Christmas tree! You can see the stocking hanging off to the side.

Pinwheel Pink, with no flash because it washed out the Susan G Komen fairy.

Very Berry Paisley!

Raspberry Fizz

No Vera, but my cute mini tree. It kind of looks like a mess in this pic, haha, but cute in person.

DeCluttering, part 3

Mailing my Pinwheel Pink Cell Phone Case and Blue Rhapsody Holiday Tote to their new owners today. They finally sold on ebay! You can list 100 items for free through Christmas which worked out well because these two didn't sell the first time, so I could relist them for free again. I also sold a grocery bag that wasn't Vera Bradley. I only have two bags left! The Little Terry Tote which doesn't look like anyone else has had any luck selling and my GUC Pink Pansy Tote. I will keep trying to sell those, hopefully they are gone by Christmas, we shall see.

Vera and the TSA

Last night I flew to Sacramento because this weekend I am going to my cousin Russell's wedding and my friend Sophia's baby shower. My suitcase was really full. I had my Super Tote packed so I could take stuff to the shower (I am in charge of games and prizes). So I decided to use my Super Tote as a carry on and throw a couple of bags in it and my shoes.

TSA ran my tote through their x ray machine and asked who the bag belonged to because it looked like there was a knife or shank in it. I was thinking no way! Just shoes and bags. So they ran it through again and still said the same thing, so they were going to have to look through it.

She asked me if there was anything sharp in my bag and I told her no. She started looking through the main part of my bag, no problem. Then she was going to look in one of the ten pockets that the Super Tote and the light bulb went off! I remembered that I did have a knife in my bag! Oops!

Last week I was helping out at Tri Deltas recruitment and we bought 6ft sandwiched for the girls. I threw a knife (my pink breast cancer awareness one from Pampered Chef!) in my tote in case we needed it. We never ended up using it and it was at the bottom of one of the pockets so I forgot to take it out of the tote.

The woman at TSA was really nice about it. She asked me if I wanted to go back and check it. I had a bag with a zipper in my Super Tote so I threw the knife in there and my shoes so I wouldn't have to carry them and she escorted me out of security so I could go back to the check in counter. Thank goodness Southwest doesn't charge for your first two bags! I love Southwest! I checked my knife and I was on my way!

Decluttering - Continued...Finally Selling Some of my Vera Bradley Bags

Alright! Decluttering time! I finally feel like I have time to mail these out if people buy them and I found boxes to ship them. All of the bags below are for sale and the price includes shipping…which is whatever shipping method is the cheapest. If you want insurance or it to have confirmation, then you might have to pay extra. Whatever I don’t sell in the next few days will be listed on craigslist or ebay. Email me at ohmyvera@gmail.com if you wan to purchase anything. If there are multiple people who want the same thing then who ever I got an email from first gets first grabs at it. I am only taking payments through paypal. If you have any questions just let me know.

I already have them in boxes, so I don’t really want to take more pictures, but if you ask really nice and are sincerely interested I might take a few for you.

Mediterranean Blue Mini Notebook $10 New in Package (Not selling the Journal, decided to put in the box of stuff we are mailing to soldiers in Afganistan)

Terry Cloth Little Tote (Handbag) $35 Like New

Vera Bradley 2009 Holiday Tote Blue Rhapsody NWT $35

Katherine Little Betsy – EUC $30

Backsack Petal Pink NWT $30

Paprika Bucket Tote $30 EEEUC Only used once. I have the tag for it.

Cell Phone Case Pinwheel Pink NWT $15

Pink Pansy Tote GUC Purchased on ebay when I was naïve about Vera Bradley bags. Bag as soiled handles and the bottom corners are worn. It didn’t come with a baseboard, but Vera Bradley sent me a new one that I put in it. $25

SOLD - All in One Raspberry Fizz EUC $25 You can kind of see a little wear on the corners. They aren’t fraying, but it looks like a couple corners probably rubbed on my dark wash jeans or picked up a little dirt from sitting on a bar. Nothing too noticeable, but if you are picky then you should know what you are getting. I bought this because I think that it has PERFECT pattern placement. Check out that paisley!
There were a few other bags in my decluttering pile. I gave my Mom the Windsor Navy Hipster I just purchased along with a Simply Violet Trip Kit and my Patchwork Envelop. So I would say that decluttering when pretty well! I am proud of myself!
Side note: apparently decluttering isn’t a word…but that is fine with me, I am going to use it anyways

Glasses

Vera Bradley came out with a new set of sunglasses and even readers. I have two pairs of Vera Bradley sunglasses and I really like them. I wear them all of the time. I have one that are Pinwheel Pink and the other are Purple Punch. I was lucky enough to find one pair at TJ Maxx a while back and the other pair I pick up at a Vera Bradley store onsale.

You might have too much Vera if...

You have used so many bags this week and are too busy to put them away and they stack up outside your closet.

Although taking this picture inspired me to finally put them away.

RueLaLa

RueLaLa is an invite only shopping website that has 2 day boutiques. They have had Vera Bradley items a couple of times, but not recently. I havent even logged onto RueLaLa in a while, but last week while watching The Hills/The City they mentioned that Whitney Port would have a portion of her collection on RueLaLa and this morning when I get my "Whats on sale this week" email from RueLaLa it said that Whitney's stuff goes on sale on May 12th.

Even though they arent offering Vera right now I still thought that I would share an invite with you all incase you ever want to check it out. They have fun designers and really nice things at great prices. If Vera is ever on there again, believe me, I will let you know!

I bought a Pinwheel Pink Super Tote a while back from RueLaLa for about $40 I think. My mom got a Pink Elephants Hanging Organizer the time before that. The Vera stuff they have offered were all retiring prints or styles, but they were a pretty good deal if you logged in early enough.
