Vera Bradley Leather Trim Caroline in Jazzy Blooms

I have wanted this bag for so long, probably since it first came out.  Patience is a virtue, right?  So I waited until the timing was right!  The leather trim bags finally went on sale a couple of weeks ago and then all of the items in the sale category were an extra 25% off.  I also had a gift card from a friend that was a bridesmaid gift.  So I only had a pay a couple of dollar for the bag!!  I was so incredibly thrilled!

I have been using it for about two weeks now and I really like it.  It fits so much stuff and I keep getting compliments on it.  The funniest was from the doctor's office.  The doctor walked by and said it looked like I was going to a party with that purse.

It is a great time to pick up this style.  It was recently retired (both leather trim and signature collection styles) so it is available at sale prices!

It holds a lot of stuff!  I also move the slip in pocket on the outside.  I use it for my phone.

Lots of stuff!  Card holder, earphones holder, cosmetic trio, sunglass holder, keys, mints, pepper spray, accordion wallet, snacks and lanyard.

The straps slip off my shoulder every once and a while, but for the most part it is just fine! It is such gorgeous bag, I love using it!

Vera Bradley Best Friends Event

Sunday morning I was lucky enough to get to go to one of the local Vera Bradley stores for a Best Friends event.  The store opened at 9:30am so that we could shop before the mall opened at 11:00am. It was so nice to just have a small group of us in the store.  

The ladies at the Tysons store are always so delightful, I really enjoy shopping there.  Everyone is so friendly and helpful.  It is always a great experience!

After taking a bunch of photos at the new Towson store, I realized I should take more photos of the Tysons Corner Center store.

I guess I never noticed it before, but this store has a polka dot ottoman just like the one at Towson! The red room in the entry way to the store and the other photo is a desk display with lots of stationary items. 

 They had croissants with butter and jelly out for us and water bottles in Jazzy Blooms.

 While most of the new sales items were all in one section of the store, some were still mixed into the regular displays and had these cute tags to let you know they were part of the Spring Sale. 

We each received a gift bag for $25 off our purchase of $75 or more...I'll show you what I bought next...and a nail file in the shape of sunglasses and a tape measure.  Also for the very first time I won one of the giveaways!  They had us all enter to win one of the two Plum Crazy Totes they were giving away and I won!  I was pretty excited to win!  I don't have a bag in Plum Crazy yet, so I can't wait to use my new tote! 

I just picked up a few things.  I was excited to get another Two Way Tote and I picked up the last one the store had in stock of Jazzy Blooms!  I am loving this print and was happy to be able to take this one home with me.  I also bought a set of hair ties in Plum Crazy and the new Large Market Tote which comes in Midnight Blues.  It came in handy when I got home and needed to carry everything inside from the car.  I could really load it up with a lot of stuff! 

 My day didnt stop there.  I had heard the Vera Bradley Outlet was having a sale for 40% off everything, so I gave them a call to confirm and then decided to drive the extra 30 minutes to get there.  I just picked up a few stationary items and luggage tags for myself.  I also picked up a couple small gifts for a few friends.  Plus it was a pretty nice day outside, so it was nice to shop around at the outdoor outlet mall.

Vera Bradley Convertible Crossbody v. Two Way Tote

Recently Ebags had the Convertible Crossbody bag on sale for 20% off, plus Ebates had double cash back, so I decided to buy one!  I have loved my Two Way Tote, so I thought that I would love the Convertible Crossbody just as much...but I didn't.  It seems like a great bag, it just isnt for me...see why below.

 The Convertible Crossbody is taller than the Two Way Tote. 

The two way tote is a little wider

On the Convertible Crossbody the handles fold down.

But there are magnets that hold it down and on one side the magnets were moving around inside and they made the bag bunch up funny. 

And then when you pull it back up, it is still bunched up.  I think that it might just be a fluke, I dont like how the magnets dont seem secure inside.  I could play around with it and get it to lay flat, but I dont want to have to mess with my bag every time I use it. 

There is a slip in pocket on each side of the bag.  

The Two Way Tote doesnt have any pockets outside, but the inside has three slip in pockets and a zipper pocket. 

The Convertible Crossbody has three slip in pockets inside along with a zipper pocket. 

The Two Way Tote has rolled handles and the Convertible Crossbody has flat pockets. 

Another thing I didnt really care for is that the handles lay on eash side and since they are held with a magnet they are kind of awkward to grab the bag by.  I love that I can grab the Two Way Tote by the handles and go! 
So this bag is getting returned.  The magnets in mine are off and there is a fabric pull on one side.

Vera Bradley Little Hipster & Small Duffel

At the end of January Vera Bradley had an in store promotion and if you spent $75 or more you could get a Small Duffel for free!  It was too good to pass up, but I wasn't able to make it to the store, so I called and ordered it from a store.  They charge $8 for shipping, but when you are getting a $69 bag for free made it totally worth it! 

I had been wanting a Little Hipster, so decided now would be a great time to get one.  I was debating between Go Wild or Jazzy Blooms.  Obviously I picked Go Wild!  I also picked up a Go Wild Fringe Scarf and Hair Pins along with Correspondence in Jazzy Blooms.  I picked English Rose for my Small Duffel!  I am loving English Rose more and more!

The Little Hipster is a little smaller than the regular Hipster which I really like to use, but bigger than the Mini Hipster that I always found too small.  I love this front pocket that has a built in wallet, freeing up space in the rest of the bag.

The main compartment has a zipper pocket. 

 The back has a slip in pocket that has a magnetic closure.  I think that it will be great for my phone so that I can get to it quickly if I need it.

Now I have a full duffel set! XL Duffel in Pink Pansy, Large Duffel in Versailles and Small Duffel in English Rose! 

XL holds three stacks of clothing, Large holds two stacks of clothing and the Small does seems like it holds very much.  Maybe a pair of shoes and a change of clothing.  

They all have the slip in pocket on one end. 

Excited about my new bags! I will probably have to wait until it warms up a bit to use the Little Hipster...I need a bag that will hold all my warm weather extras like gloves and hat.

Vera Bradley Leather Trim Caroline

Vera Bradley released the Spring 2013 colors in their leather trim bags on January 24th! In addition to the bags they had in the winter, they added Caroline for the spring.  And the Caroline has two leather color option for each pattern.
