Selling on Ebay - Plum Crazy Tote & Pink Elephant Pleated Tote

I decided to sell a couple of bags.  Sunday I mentioned the totes that I picked up at the Spring 2013 preview, well three of them got purchased at the 'Buy it now' price, but the fourth (Plum Crazy) had enough action bidding that the 'Buy it now' price was dropped by ebay.  The auction ends Aug 25, 201220:54:32 PDT.  Check out the auction by clicking here

Up next is a Pink Elephant Pleated Tote that I purchased and never used.  These are really hard to find because Vera Bradley only made them for a short time.  This is a retired color and style.  Pink Elephant is one of the Vera Bradley Breast Cancer Foundation colors.  I started the bidding out at 99 cents! You can click here to check out the auction.  Auction ends Aug 27, 201218:33:07 PDT.

If you have any questions about ebay, just let me know!

Vera Bradley Spring 2012 Preview - Sneak Peek of Ellie Blue, Rosy Posies, Island Blooms & Camellia

Vera Bradley has a survey that they send out to see what people think about the new colors.  They just sent out the survey for the Spring 2011 colors, but I didn't get to take the survey because by the time I got home they had already collected enough information that it didn't need to ask me the questions. Bummer.  But I have a couple of friends who were able to take it and sent me a photo so that I could share it with all of you!  (I can't remember how I got on the list to do to survey. Probably from making purchases online or from signing up to receive their emails.) I can't even begin to think about Spring, I havent even experienced my first DC winter yet.  I am not so sure about these prints, but isnt that what I say every time? Rosy Posies does kind of intrigue me though...there are patterns in the different parts of the flower.  I think that it will probably look pretty neat in person.  Ellie Blue has Elephants! I love that Vera Bradley keeps using elephants, so fun!
What color from the spring are you most looking forward to?

Vera Bradley Emily Tote - Amazing Deal on Ebay!

A special night time post, because I wont have time tomorrow. It is time to share my great deal that I got from ebay last week! One of my Vera friends posted a link to this tote because it was such a great deal! It was on ebay as a "buy it now" listing...for drum roll please...$4! I was shocked! It was listed at excellent used condition, which it is. I had a coupon for ebay for $2 off. So I got this tote for $2 plus shipping! I couldn't believe it. I have always liked the color Emily, but never found anything in it worth purchasing until now. Scroll through the photos to see the surprise I found at the bottom of my tote.

This is the front of my tote.

Back of the tote...just like the front of the tote.

Here is a close up of the print. It has pansies! Emily was made from July 2004 - January 2006.

On the pocket they sewed a button and elastic to make a closure for the pocket. I didn't even notice it in the listing, but I don't mind. It is kind of nice to have on there to keep the pocket shut.

I was looking into the bottom of my tote and something didn't look quite right. Well that would be because there is a fabric wrapped Americana Red base board!

So I pulled that out and this is what the bottom really looks like. Anyone need a base board in Americana Red???? Haha. I kind of like that print too now! Guess I will keep an eye out on ebay for a deal!

Back on the auction block

I am selling some stuff on ebay this week. I have two auctions that end tomorrow and a few that will end next Sunday. I probably should have listed this stuff at the beginning of the month for all of the Christmas shoppers, but I didnt get around to it. Plus it is easier to list things at my parents house because my mom has a scale and a bunch of boxes (a closet full). So I can take photos, pack it up, weigh it and list it. I probably should buy my own scale, but since I dont sell that often I will probably just keep my system of packing stuff up and taking it to my parents house.

The two Vera Bradley items that I have that are ending tomorrow are a Pink Pansy Tote and a Java Blue Photo Book. Last night I added two checkbook covers, one in Bermuda Blue and the other is Piccadilly Plum. The other stuff is really misc.

If you are in the mood for a little shopping you can check out my ebay listings by clicking here.

Decluttering - Continued...Finally Selling Some of my Vera Bradley Bags

Alright! Decluttering time! I finally feel like I have time to mail these out if people buy them and I found boxes to ship them. All of the bags below are for sale and the price includes shipping…which is whatever shipping method is the cheapest. If you want insurance or it to have confirmation, then you might have to pay extra. Whatever I don’t sell in the next few days will be listed on craigslist or ebay. Email me at ohmyvera@gmail.com if you wan to purchase anything. If there are multiple people who want the same thing then who ever I got an email from first gets first grabs at it. I am only taking payments through paypal. If you have any questions just let me know.

I already have them in boxes, so I don’t really want to take more pictures, but if you ask really nice and are sincerely interested I might take a few for you.

Mediterranean Blue Mini Notebook $10 New in Package (Not selling the Journal, decided to put in the box of stuff we are mailing to soldiers in Afganistan)

Terry Cloth Little Tote (Handbag) $35 Like New

Vera Bradley 2009 Holiday Tote Blue Rhapsody NWT $35

Katherine Little Betsy – EUC $30

Backsack Petal Pink NWT $30

Paprika Bucket Tote $30 EEEUC Only used once. I have the tag for it.

Cell Phone Case Pinwheel Pink NWT $15

Pink Pansy Tote GUC Purchased on ebay when I was naïve about Vera Bradley bags. Bag as soiled handles and the bottom corners are worn. It didn’t come with a baseboard, but Vera Bradley sent me a new one that I put in it. $25

SOLD - All in One Raspberry Fizz EUC $25 You can kind of see a little wear on the corners. They aren’t fraying, but it looks like a couple corners probably rubbed on my dark wash jeans or picked up a little dirt from sitting on a bar. Nothing too noticeable, but if you are picky then you should know what you are getting. I bought this because I think that it has PERFECT pattern placement. Check out that paisley!
There were a few other bags in my decluttering pile. I gave my Mom the Windsor Navy Hipster I just purchased along with a Simply Violet Trip Kit and my Patchwork Envelop. So I would say that decluttering when pretty well! I am proud of myself!
Side note: apparently decluttering isn’t a word…but that is fine with me, I am going to use it anyways
Happy Shopping!

New Vera Bradley Tote Base

I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that when I bought a Mod Floral Blue Tote off of ebay that the base board in it was bent in two places. I even split into two pieces from being bent, so then it was even less supportive because it was thin. So I called Vera Bradley customer service and they said they would send me one. It arrived yesterday! Now my tote has a perfect base.

Vera Bradley really has the best customer service! They always go above and beyond to make sure that they have happy customers. I always appreciate all that they do. I might have cut back my Vera spending, but I will be a fan for a long time!

1 Week until the Loves Me Tote Raffle

I will be raffling off the Loves Me Tote in a week! Please make a donation if you can. Every little bit helps! So far Linda, Amber and Diana have make donations. Thanks ladies!

I thought that I would share the letter I sent out to my family and friends about why I walk.

Dear Family and Friends,

Yes, I'm doing it again - I signed up for the 2010 Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure! I had such an incredible experience doing the Komen 3-Day for the Cure last year that I'm going back for more. I'm so excited about this event, everyone that participates in the walk is so positive and it is really inspirational to see so many people working together for the same cause.

The Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days that raises funds for breast cancer research and community programs. I was inspired to walk last year because of my friend Sheri Wallace. Sheri battled breast cancer for 10 years and decided to make a stand and join the 3-day walk along with her sisters, nieces and friends. Our team of 18 people raised almost $50,000 (each participant has to raise at least $2,300). It was an amazing accomplishment and I met so many wonderful friends along the way.

This year, again, Sheri inspired me to walk, but for another reason entirely. In May Sheri lost her battle with breast cancer. We are gathering a team of people who loved her and are walking in her memory. As I struggle with the sadness of losing Sheri, I'm drawing hope from knowing that the funds we raise this year will prevent another person this same heartbreak.

I hope that you will be able to make a donation to help me reach my fundraising goal. Additionally, if you are interested in signing up to participate in the walk please let me know, we would love for you to join us! The Breast Cancer 3 Day is truly an inspirational event to be a part of! Thank you for your support! I really appreciate it!

Sincerely, Alison

Raffle to Raise Money for the Breast Cancer 3 Day Walk

Most of you have probably seen in my side bar that I am walking in the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer 3 Day Walk. Last year was my first year participating in the walk and I had such an amazing experience that I decided to walk again this year! Each walker has to raise at least $2,300 to be able to participate. So far I have raised $1,348, so only $952 to go!

I was brainstorming some ideas to raise money and I thought it would be a lot of fun to have a raffle here on my blog! The wonderful people at Vera Bradley were kind enough to donate a Tote in Loves Me! Just another reason they are one of my favorite companies!

Tote in Loves Me!

Vera Bradley’s breast cancer awareness patterns all raise funds for breast cancer research. Loves Me is their current breast cancer awareness pattern and it is one of my favorites! 10% of Vera Bradley's net proceeds from the sale of products in Loves Me … will be donated to the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer and other breast cancer projects and services.

There is a great amount of information on the Foundation’s website: verabradley.org.
Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/verabradleyfoundation?ref=ts
Twitter page: http://www.twitter.com/followheidi
Blog: http://verabradleyfoundation.blogspot.com/
http://www.flickr.com/photos/verabradleyfoundation/

So here is how the raffle is going to work, raffle “tickets” are $5 for 1 or $25 for 6 and just incase someone is feeling extra generous…$100 for 30. You can make your donation directly to Susan G. Komen on my fundraising website. Once you make a donation the website sends me an email telling me you have made a donation, so I will be able to track of who has entered the raffle. Every morning I will post the first names and last initial of everyone who has entered so far so that you will know that I got your entries. I will put everyone’s name in a spreadsheet for the amount of entries they have and then will do it old school style and print and cut them, so that I can pull a winner out of a hat (a Vera Bradley hat of course!) I will pull a winner on Tuesday, September 7th! That gives you two weeks to make a donation…I wanted to give everyone enough time since I know a lot of people are coming back from vacations and school is starting.

You can make a donation online by going to www.the3day.org/goto/alison On the top left hand side there is a pink button that says “Click to donate to Alison in 2010” Click on that and it will take you to the donation page. If you cant make a donation online send me an email at ohmyvera@gmail.com and we can work something out.

I am super excited about this raffle and I hope that you are too! Please share it with anyone you know how would be interested in winning the tote bag or who would just be interested in supporting the fight against breast cancer. I really appreciate everyone’s support!

San Diego Fair

Yesterday I had an amazing time with my mom and sister at the fair. At the last minute I switched up my Tote for my Saddle Up. If I am going to have to carry my bag all day there is no way I am taking a shoulder bag. I don’t know why I even tried the Tote. I have never bought a Hipster, but now that they are retiring I might get one in Loves Me.

My sister had a Vera Sighting of her own and snapped this picture of me and my mom when we weren’t paying attention.

We walked through one of the exhibit halls that had just plants and flowers and I saw this table of Dahlias. I had to take a picture since one of the new Fall prints is Hello Dahlia. Who is excited for July 8?! I am!

I also want to say thanks to everyone who checked out my blog after it was posted on the Vera Bradley facebook page! That was really exciting for me and I am happy to have new readers!
