Dang that’s a lot of Vera Bradley!

So I did it! I counted every piece of Vera Bradley that I own. I pulled it out of my closet, drawers and shelves. There was something in every room in the house! Even a shopping tote in the car that I decided to just leave there because I didn’t want to go back outside. My guess for how much Vera I owed was in the 70’s, well I guess I underestimated a little bit. The final number came to 112! This includes the free water bottles they give you at the signature stores (6 of them). I have everything from mints to totes and PJ shorts to wristlets. I even made an excel spreadsheet of everything I own with the name of the bag or item, its color and how many of then I own.

A few things didn’t make it into the picture, like the shopper tote that was in the car, the water bottles, a thing of mints in my desk at work and two ribbon boards that I didn’t feel like taking off the wall.

Some of it was a gift with purchase, some were gifts and most of them were on sale. I think that I probably have enough Vera to last me a while. I am always tempted to buy new bags, but I think that since I am not that excited about the summer colors anyways so it will be easy to wait a while. I am going to get that yoga mat though!
Update: I mailed Beth a mini notebook, so that is one less Vera! Yay. Except that I found the Vera Bradley Mug that Amber gave me in my kitchen, so back to 112.

  2. Are you going to keep all of it, or sell some of it on Ebay?

  6. I think Vera Bradley makes beautiful stuff and I own a few pieces myself but this is excessive. You’ve spent thousands of dollars on Vera Bradley. I think it’s sad. There are so many people in our communities who are in need and way too many people with excess that is spent on indulgent selfishness.

  7. Wow. Isn't it easy to be self-righteous about the way hard-working people spend what little disposable income they have to give them pleasure when you're "Anonymous?" I happen to work with this girl, and no one works harder to get things done in a timely manner while under extreme duress. If all it takes is a purse once in awhile to keep her sane, then I say she deserves it. Why don't you go comment on Jay Leno's blog about his cars, instead of picking on little people for their hobbies?

  8. I realize that this is popular post. Some of you are probably judging me for having so much Vera Bradley, but really who are you to judge? It isn’t any of your business what I spend my money on. Plus I can see when enough is enough, but only I get to make that decision, not you. I hope that you take the time to read some of my other posts and then you will see what kind of person I really am. Let me suggest this post for you to read: http://www.ohmyvera.com/2010/08/raffle-to-raise-money-for-breast-cancer.html where I raised money for the Susan G. Komen 3 Day for a Cure.
