Today, September 30, may be our biggest event ever, as we ask people from around the globe to make a promise to take action against breast cancer — all through social media. This global effort starts with you, posting to your Facebook profile or Twitter and then asking your friends to do the same.

 

What's the goal? We hope to mobilize millions to take 69 seconds to #fightbreastcancer AND break the Guinness World Record for Most Widespread Social Network Message in 24 Hours.

 

Why 69 seconds? Because that's how often a woman dies of breast cancer somewhere in the world. A statistic we're trying to change. It's also about how long it takes to #fightbreastcancer by choosing to drive change, share support or educate at www.69-seconds.org.

Amazing Vera Bradley Purple Punch Cake

How amazing is this cake? I have already hinted...maybe not so subtly...that I would love to have a Vera Bradley themed party somewhere along the line like a bridal or baby shower, even though I am no where close to either of those. Does anyone have a single son, brother, nephew, etc? Haha. A cake like this would just make my day!

Decluttering - Continued...Finally Selling Some of my Vera Bradley Bags

Alright! Decluttering time! I finally feel like I have time to mail these out if people buy them and I found boxes to ship them. All of the bags below are for sale and the price includes shipping…which is whatever shipping method is the cheapest. If you want insurance or it to have confirmation, then you might have to pay extra. Whatever I don’t sell in the next few days will be listed on craigslist or ebay. Pink Pansy Tote GUC Purchased on ebay when I was naïve about Vera Bradley bags. Bag as soiled handles and the bottom corners are worn. It didn’t come with a baseboard, but Vera Bradley sent me a new one that I put in it. $25

SOLD - All in One Raspberry Fizz EUC $25 You can kind of see a little wear on the corners. They aren’t fraying, but it looks like a couple corners probably rubbed on my dark wash jeans or picked up a little dirt from sitting on a bar. Nothing too noticeable, but if you are picky then you should know what you are getting. I bought this because I think that it has PERFECT pattern placement. Check out that paisley!

There were a few other bags in my decluttering pile. I gave my Mom the Windsor Navy Hipster I just purchased along with a Simply Violet Trip Kit and my Patchwork Envelop. So I would say that decluttering when pretty well! I am proud of myself!

Side note: apparently decluttering isn’t a word…but that is fine with me, I am going to use it anyways

Vera Sighting!

Mom had a Vera sighting this morning at a meeting.  One of the women spotted my Mom's VB bag and then pointed out hers.  They had a nice little chat about Vera Bradley bags.  Mediterranean Blue Morgan.  

Hipsters

Since I picked up the Windsor Navy Hipster I thought maybe I would compair it to my hipster. These are both retired styles since they restyled the Hipster a season ago. I love the Hipster style. It was great to use on vacation because I could put in it just what I need to carry and I had my hands free.

The old Hipster has two slip in pockets inside a slip in pocket on outside along with a zipper pocket. The long strap is attached on the sides and doesn't have "hardware" except for the hardware that makes it adjustable.

The newer old one, haha, has a hidden zipper on the back, two slip in pockets inside and a pocket with a flap on the front. The straps are attached to the back part of the bag, so it lays flatter to your body...not that big of a difference. It also had hardware where the straps attach to the bag and where it makes the strap adjustable.

This little bag holds a lot of stuff. I used it to hold my phone, turnlock wallet, sunglasses, keys, chap stick, hair ties, etc. I love across the body style bags! Check out a Hipster if you havent already. The new style looks great!

Happy 2010 Winter Release Day!

There is so much going on today. First off you probably noticed the new design of my blog! Kim over at 733 A Creative Blog created it for me! I absolutely love it! I couldn't be happier with how it turned out! Thank you Kim!

Second, today is the new release of all the Winter 2010 patterns! I posted last night before I went to bed with a few links to the new patterns and styles. I was able to watch the QVC Vera Bradley episode last night. It didn't have that many of the new items, but it did have the Perfect Pocket Tote. Make sure to scroll down the page to see last nights blog.

Lastly, today is the day that my sister leaves for the Peace Corps! She is going to Ukraine and will be there for 27 months! I went to my parent's house last night to hang out with her while she was packing...I think that I even saw her pack a couple Vera Bradley items. Today I am going to meet her at the airport to say goodbye one more time. I wish her safe travels and I hope that she has an amazing time. I already started savings money to go visit her. I am really going to miss her.

Going to see the new colors!

So my mom and I are running to the mall, mind you the closest mall to my parents house it like 45mins, to get Erin a purse before she leaves. She saw it yesterday at Macys but thought it cost too much, but when we called today it is on sale for $50, so we are buying it before she leaves tomorrow morning.

Well she was looking at my blog before my mom and I left and she said Hey, I saw the new colors! I asked her why A) she didn't call me immediately or B) take photos. She said she didn't realize it was a big deal and she didn't know the new colors weren't supposed to be out until tomorrow.

So now I will get to see them when we go to the mall! Yay!

Winter 2010 Special Offer!

Another Vera Bradley Find on Craigslist

I had another great find on craigslist! I found a Windsor Navy Hipster that looks like it could be new. She must have only used it a few times. You will never guess how much I paid for it! Only $5!

I saw the listing last week, but I was so busy I didnt email him (a guy was selling it for his fiance) but at the end of the week I decided to go ahead and see if it was still available. It was! So I went last night to pick it up. When I called to say I was there, he didnt answer. So I called again, still no answer. So I was off to Ikea which was just down the street to help my friend pick up a few things for her newhouse. Of course he called back when I was pulling into the parking lot to say that he left the phone in the other room. So after I helped Joyce at Ikea it was back to try to pick up the bag and this time he answered!

I am not a huge Windsor Navy fan, so I think that I will probably just end up reselling this bag. I am going to try to sell my decluttering bags this week...it might have to wait until the weekend though.

Mark your calendars for QVC & Paprika and Hope Garden Sale

Two posts in one today because I am taking tomorrow off :)

First - Mark your calendars to see the new Vera Bradley bags on QVC. The new colors are released on Thursday, Sept 23rd and they will be on two times on QVC. The shows will air at 1am and 11am (Eastern). It is fun to watch because you get to see all of the sides of the bag, the inside and they point out features that you might not catch online, like extra pockets. They also usually have good deals too. So it is worth checking out. Last year the times on the west coast were horrible, so I taped them and watched them. Looks like I should be able to watch at least one of this time. Click here for a link to their program guide. You might have to type in Vera Bradley to the show search.

Second - For 4 Day only, now through Sunday, Paprika and Hope Garden are 40% off online at verabradley.com and select Vera Bradley stores. Make sure you check that out if you have been wanting to pick anything up in either of those colors. I am so tempted to get something in Hope Garden, but I think that I am going to pass.

Lastly - I know I said that I would like all of the bags that I want to sell this week. I just haven't had time to find boxes to mail them in, plus I am not going to be around this weekend to mail them all out. So I think that I will give it another try next week.

Vera Bradley Silk Polka Dot Tote

So I think that I have decided that I need to become a night blogger. When I try to blog in the morning sometimes I run out of time and I have to hustle to get to work. So now maybe you will get one in the morning, but I think that I am going to start posting them at night.

So one of my readers Katie posted a link to an ebay sale that was for a Vera Bradley Polka Dot Silk Tote. Neither of us had ever heard of such a Vera Bradley bag. Have any of you ever heard of it or does anyone have one? It was listed on ebay for $50.

I am normally a fan of polka dots, but for some reason I don't really like this pattern. Maybe I am just used to more print :)

My friend Melissa is in her annual family trip to Tahoe this week...actually I think that they head home today. They stopped at a store called Ambiance in Truckee, CA. While they were there Melissa ran into a die hard fan who said she would love to be on the blog! Here is a picture of her with her Vera Bradley wallet...Melissa didn't get her name. She shops at the Roseville store normally, so maybe one time when I am there I will run into her.
