My New Vera From the Spring 2012

As I mentioned yesterday I made it to the Vera Bradley store last week to go check out the new colors for Spring 2012.  I picked up a few things while I was there too!

I love my new tote!  I had never really looked at the Go Round Tote before, but since it was on sale I decided that it was worth checking out.  I love the pockets on the inside and outside, plus it zips shut so I can put important stuff inside and keep it safe when I take the metro to work.

I loved these thank you cards.  They say, "little card, big thanks."

This is the Petite Photo Duo.  I am not a huge fan of Rosy Posies, but I like this cute frame.  I am going to put a couple photos from my trip to see my sister in it and take it to work.

The photo frame folds in half.

I spend enough to get the gift with purchase.  I choose a Ditty Bag in Island Blooms, but they were out of them, so they had to order it.  It should arrive in a few days :)

  3. LOVE the Go Round in Island Blooms! I bought that one myself, as well as a luggage tag in Island Blooms, the Stay Tuned in Ellie Blue and Island Blooms to give to my girls, a Double Kiss Coin Purse in Island Blooms, and I picked out the Ditty Bag, for free with purchase, in Ellie Blue for my oldest daughter to use for her gym stuff next fall. I'm tempted to go back and get the Kiss Lock Wallet in Island Blooms, but I don't really need it you know? lol.

  5. I wanted a Go Round Tote in Island Blooms, too, but my retailer was out of the pattern. I'll be interested to hear what you think, because a lot of the reviews online were negative about the breakaway zipper.

  6. Cool, I didn't know the Go Round Tote zips up. That's a big plus because most of my VB totes don't and I'd prefer a zipper. Will have to check that one out!

    1. It has a break away zipper, so it will be nice to have the option to leave it open and have the zipper lay flat along the inside.

  7. I got the Go Round tote in Ellie Blue, and today( my first day using it) I noticed that on one of the handles there is a gap a little bit bigger than my thumbnail that has no fabric, just the plain backing. This makes me sad because I love the bag, but now I have to go through the hassle of trying to exchange it. Does anyone have any experience with this? Would I go through the independent retailer I bought it at or VB online?

    1. A gap in the handle where there is just backing sounds wrong, so I would just take it back to your retailer. They can exchange it for you and if they dont have one to exchange they should offer to mail it back to VB for you. But like someone else mentioned there will be a gap at the end of the zippers since it is a break away zipper, but it doesnt sound like that is what you were talking about.

    2. Nope, it was a finishing defect. Took it back to the store and they are gonna get another one in for me. I should have taken a picture of it but I didnt even think about it. They had never seen anything like it either. The saleswoman described it as the machine running out of fabric and then didnt start back up right away. It was right in the middle of the handle where it lays on your shoulder. Worst part is waiting for a back ordered bag :( The staff there is amazing though! If you are ever in little ole Morgantown, WV stop at the Elegant Alley Cat!

  8. I have a couple of go-round totes.. I like them! I wish Vera would quit deleting all the purses I like...the large hobo, the Alice, the Angle Tote... and now the Pleated Tote and Squared Away. I like big purses and wish they would at least replace them with new bigger purses/totes since they have been deleting so many.

And Lauren, I would go back to where I purchased the purse to get it replaced.

  9. I am such a lover of the Go Round Tote! That has been my most enjoyable purchase. I purchased one in Symphony in Hue when it retired, I couldn't and wouldn't trade this tote for anything else out there in Veraland. Ladies if you don't have one, ADD one to your collection, you won't be disappointed!! Vera kisses!!

  10. I just discovered this blog and am so happy I did--you do a wonderful job with the content--very thoughtful and clever. Thank you!

I think the Go Round Tote is going to have a small gap because it's a break-away zipper, and I know some people don't like that whereas it doesn't bother others. Very sad to see the pleated tote be discontinued--I have one in Twirly Birds Navy and I love it. I saw the Go Round Tote at my VB store (not a VB retail store but a retailer who sells it) and they weren't on sale. Bummer. I chose the Laura in Island Blooms and also got the new Phone Wallet to match and got the IB ditty bag for the free gift. Love them all and can't wait for spring so I can use it!

    Thanks

    1. Thank you! I am so glad that you like the blog! I know a lot of people are disappointed to see the Pleated Tote go...hopefully they are just going to be restyling it.

  11. I just spotted an Island Blooms Pleated Tote on eBay. I'm wondering how it could possibly be listed when as far as I'm aware, the Pleated Tote is discontinued, and, additionally, is not being made in Island Blooms. The price also seems a bit too good to be true. I'm passing on this, as I believe it's a fake. While I'll be bummed if this is the "real deal", too many facts seem to be pointing in the direction of a fake to me.

I leave it in your hands, Vera fans, is this a fake Vera, or did I just pass on something truly special?

  12. Hey everyone! I was wondering if anyone knows if there will be another collection released in the Spring 2012 colors? They usually have a patchwork looking line that follows a few weeks later. If anyone knows I would appreciate any and all info. Pictures would be awesome!!! Thank you very much! xoxo, T

    1. Tela, It looks like they might not have a patchwork collection this time around. If you go to verabradley.com and click on "Whats New" you can see what they have planned for the spring....Frill and a Resort collection.

  14. Regarding the ebay Pleated Tote in Island Blooms... very odd since they are not making it in Island Blooms... it might very well be a fake.
