Over Labor Day I went to the Vera Bradley Outlet because they were having a 25% off sale! I didnt go with anything to buy in mind, but I did find some good stuff!  I got a Deco Daisy Angle Tote ($29), Call Me Coral Frannie ($16), Watercolor Pocket Cosmetic ($10), and a Barcelona Lizzy ($25).  I am most excited about the Lizzy.  I plan on taking it with me when I visit my sister in Ukraine in November.  It will be great for carrying around what I need, since I wont need too much.  It is dangerous living this close to the outlet store, I need to be careful!

On Sale - Barcelona, Slate Blooms, Twirly Birds Navy & Hello Dahlia!

The next set of sale items go on sale Thursday, September 1st!

The colors going on sale are Barcelona, Slate Blooms, Twirly Birds Navy & Hello Dahlia.  The styles going on sale are Large Hobo, Julia, Angle Tote, Opera Wallet & Trip Kit.  And the Summer Canvas will also be going on sale.

I am kind of disappointed to see the Angle Tote on its way out.  I actually one own one, but I have bought, returned, exchanged a few along the way.  They are a great size to use as a large purse.  I will definitely be picking some up on sale!

Also the Outlets are having a sale for Labor Day weekend!  Everything will be 25% off and Let's Do Lunch will be $15.99. I plan on heading out there on Friday or Saturday, can't wait to see what they have in stock this weekend!

Amber, Melissa and Kendra's shopping loot, plus a new Vera fan!

Amber and her friends Melissa and Kendra went to the Vera Bradley store last week to pick a few things. I am loving what they bought! The All Wrapped Up in Blue Lagoon is mine :) Amber picked it up for me since none of the stores near me were offering it. Amber bought a Metropolitan! She has been wanting one and finally got it! That bag is on my wish list! Melissa picked up a Weekender! Her favorite color is green so the Lemon Parfait was a great choice.

Kendra picked up her first Vera Bradley bags! Baroque has been the 1st Vera bags for a bunch of our friends, I think that it was a really great decision for Vera Bradley to release that color. I bet they dont retire it for a long time.
Welcome to the club Kendra! Get ready, because you wont be able to stop at just two!

Where's Vera?

So I think I might start something new...Where's Vera. Like the flat Stanley but for my bags, haha. Today my Vera is at the Del Mar Race Track. This will probably come into play more when I go on a road trip in a week, but more on that later because I have money to lose! 4 races so far and not one winning bet! Good thing I don't come here often!

Matchy Matchy

So normally my purse and gym bag don't match. I take my Night Owl Miller bag to the gym and sometimes use it for a change of clothes for after work. I don't really have a lot of purses that match or coordinate with Night Owl. Today I am carrying my Simply Violet Angle Tote and that doesn't go. Last week I carried my Cupcakes Green Tic Tac Tote and I kind of liked the way they looked together! Maybe because they are both bright bold colors. I took a picture of them together. I should see what else coordinates in my closet.

If I thought that I was going to live in my place a lot longer I think that I would put a few hooks in my hallway and use my bags as decoration! I could hang a tote bag in the back and then a purse in front of it. Plus maybe I would be more likely to swap them out more if they were super easy to get too and not stuffed in the closet.

My First Video! The Angle Tote!

So at the urging of a few people I finally set up a youtube account! Woo Hoo! I even made my first video! I grabbed a bag and sat on my living room floor. I start laughing part of the way through, but decided just to use this video. This was my first take and I didn't edit it.

Enjoy!

Signature Store Visit to check out Fall 2010 Line

The Fall 2010 colors are out and I didn’t go wild in the store! It is amazing!

On Friday morning I woke up at Amber’s house and was ready to go! Our friends Alissa and Tory met up with us and we were on our way. Roseville is just outside Sacramento, maybe 20 minutes.

This has to be the most amazing part of the day – We pulled into the parking spot and I was ready to jump out of the car. When I opened the car door, guess what was sitting there??? A $20 bill! Woo Hoo! My lucky day!

We went inside and we all started looking at all of the new stuff. Amber was drawn to the Barcelona and I wasn’t really drawn to any of it. I was kind of surprised. I looked at the new styles, but I didn’t feel like I HAD to have any of them. I really like the Julia, but I really am more of a big purse kind of person. I like to be able to open my purse and throw everything in. So I thought that I would like the Side by Side, but I don’t really like how the pockets look like they stick out. I knew I wanted a purple bag, so I started checking out what I thought would be good in Simply Violet. (I take some time to warm up to colors I guess)

I was going to get an Angle Tote in Simply Violet, but I also had to make an exchange for my Loves Me Alice. My Alice was tearing a little bit on the corner where the metal was. I have only used it a handful of times and I am not that rough with my bags. So the woman suggested trying a different color to see if the wearing wouldn’t show up as much. Plus in the newer colors the metal doesn’t have such defined edges, they kind of rolled them more. Hard to describe, but if you compare the first set that came out with the new color ones, you will see what I am talking about. So I decided to get an Alice in Simply Violet. But I still wanted a Loves Me bag, so I decided to get an Angle Tote in that color.

I had to pick something up in a new color, so I decided that I really wanted an Emma (Again, I guess it just takes me a while to warm up to the new designs) So I got an Emma in Very Berry Paisley. It is so cute! I love it!!!

We spent over an hour and a half in the store! We were having them get us bags in different colors, trying all sorts of bags, checking out the new ones (we thought we picked up a Metropolitan with a defect, turns out that hole is so that you could slide it on the handles of your suitcase! Haha) and just chatting, we had a lot of catching up to do.

Amber got a Cooler bag in Barcelona and a Zip Id Case in Very Berry Paisley. Tory made her first ever Vera Bradley purchases! She picked up a Lanyard in Very Berry Paisley and a Small Cosmetic bag in Hope Garden. Alissa had way too much self-control and ended up not getting anything. Way to go Alissa!

We had such a great time! I loved looking at all of the new bags. The women were so friendly and helpful! The new Frill is great! So far I only have one piece, but sooner or later I might have to pick up a couple of things. I really like some of the prints! I took a bunch of pictures, so I will post more of them tomorrow!

You might have too much Vera if...

You have used so many bags this week and are too busy to put them away and they stack up outside your closet.

Although taking this picture inspired me to finally put them away.

Shopped 'til I dropped

Yesterday the good deals online got the best of me and I finally gave in. I bought the Trip Kit and Curling Iron Cover from QVC. I wasnt going to buy the set since I already have a Curling Iron Cover, but I really wanted the Trip Kit and it was cheaper to buy the pair from QVC than to buy just the Trip Kit from Vera Bradley. I can always use the Curling Iron Cover as a gift or sell it on ebay.

Then there was free shipping on Verabradley.com if you spent more than $75. I have been wanting an Angle Tote since they came out, so I finally got one! I bought one in Night and Day and I cant wait for it to arrive! I bought a pack of Cupcakes Pink Thank You cards, which brought my total to $75 exactly! Score!

I can't wait for it all to arrive in the mail! Hopefully they all arrive next week!

QVC - Trip Kit and Curling Iron Cover

QVC has a great deal on the Vera Bradley Trip Kit and Curling Iron Cover set. With shipping it is $30. The regualr retail price of the trip kit is $35 and the curling iron cover is $17, so buying on QVC you save a lot of money. I emailed my mom and sister last night in case they were interested and I get this email back from my mom:

Alison, You have me hooked. I really like that little clutch purse, so I ORDERED IT from QVC just now. The colored pastel like colors. Good deal, I think, a little less than retail price with shipping and tax. included. Mom

I went to QVC because because I want to find a good deal on a Night and Day Angle Tote, but no such luck. The search continues.

Here is the link to QVC for the Trip Kit and Curling Iron Cover Set.
