Vera Bradley from ebay and Poshmark

Lately I have been craving some older Vera Bradley colors, so I decided to check out ebay and Poshmark to see what people had for sale.  Most of you are probably familiar with ebay, but might not have heard of Poshmark.  Poshmark is an app for iPhones and I think Droid too where women sell clothing and accessories.  You can also access it via the internet, but so far I have just used the app.  It can be kind of hard to search for what you are looking for.  I search for Vera Bradley and then I filter the search to only show unsold items.   You can also filter it by category, size, brand, price and NWT items.  It isnt perfect, but might be worth checking out if you want another place to shop. As with any shopping site, you might have a good or bad experience, so far I have been fortunate to have both of my purchases go smoothly.

My Peacock Large Tic Tac Tote is from ebay.  It had a small stain on the front when I got it, so I threw it in the washing machine with a couple of shirts on delicate.  I didn't do anything special, just used Tide and it turned out great!  The Katherine Umbrella and Raspberry Fizz Vera are from Poshmark.  I was excited to find both of those, because they are two of my favorite patterns!

  1. You can access Poshmark from your desktop, but to do any buying or selling you must have the app on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. There's more about it on their FAQ page, but here it is:

"I don’t have an iPhone. Can I still get the Poshmark app?

Currently you will need an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch to use the Poshmark app. Also, please make sure you are running iOS 5.0 or later. For everyone else: stay tuned! A shoppable website and android app is on the horizon! "

I would also note the extremely high fees for selling through this platform. Poshmark takes a 20% commission so you may see some more inflated prices from the sellers. I think Poshmark is a great concept, but they still have some tweaking to do!

  2. I love buying Vera on ebay! I recently bought a Lisa B in Barcelona but I had to return it because it was too small and smelled like it had been doused in 10,000 floral dryer sheets. My favorite recent purchase from ebay was 100 handbag in Imperial Toile. I love the pockets in it.

  3. Etsy is another place you can find Vintage Vera, I bought a really nice smaller bag the size of the small betsey in the retired pale blue toile.
