Recent Vera Bradley Purchases

So this release has been a little different, I have been so busy I still havent made it to a Vera Bradley store.  I am hoping to maybe go this weekend.  So I have done a little shopping online...but not all for the Spring items. The purchases below are in no particular order.

First up is my new Plum Crazy Fringe Scarf!  I am in love with this style scarf and think I need all four colors! They were sold out on verabradley.com on the release day, so I headed over to QVC to buy it.  It was a little cheaper on QVC, but the shipping made it go back up to about full retail price.  But I was able to use Ebates to get cash back and their shipping is super fast! It arrived in two days.

Vera Bradley was on Rue La La's Sunday Styleathon and I picked up a couple things: Twirly Birds Navy Cosmetic Trio and a Hanging Organizer in Night and Day.

Although, after my friend Jill shared this photo of her Grand Cosmetic bag I knew I had to have one.  It is so large and will hold so much stuff.  So I jumped on Ebags to buy one and it should arrive this week! So I am not sure I need the Hanging Organizer.
Update: Decided I dont need the Hanging Organizer AND Grand Cosmetic so the Hanging Organizer is on ebay.  Auction ends Jan 23, 2013.  http://www.ebay.com/itm/190785467634

On New Year's Eve Vera Bradley had a sale for an extra 20% off all sale items!  I had been eyeing a belt for a while, so I decided to order one.  I also needed a new wall calendar for work.  The belt ended up being $13.92 and the calendar was $6.72.  Pretty good way to start off the New Year!

I have some ideas about shopping Vera Bradley this year, which include not paying full price.  Last year I was pretty good about using coupons and taking advantage of sales, but I wonder if I can be better this year.  I think I will write up a post about it when I get a chance.

What have you picked up so far this year?

And don't miss out on the chance to win $150 from Ebates! Check out the blog post today, because the giveaway ends Friday, January 18th.

  1. Best deal was the back packs for $34.99 for a few hours online at Vera Bradley in Dec. Also, the bigger, gusseted wristlets for $17

Also my local store had 25% off all Vera items on launch day last Wed.

  2. I NEVER pay full price for anything Vera! My best deal was actually on Craigslist: a woman sold me her LIKE NEW Pink Elephant handbag (it looks like a Cassidy but I'm not sure of the real name.) I negotiated a $45 price and she threw in a wallet and a jewelry roll. Also like new!!! What fun! Prices on Craigslist tend to be too high, but I always cheerfully negotiate and now is a good time since many women get new Veras for Christmas and want to downsize their older bags.

  3. For the new spring colors, I've picked up the headband in Ribbons, the barrettes in Go Wild, and the fabric journal in Go Wild. The journal was free (I'm a very lucky lady - I won the Year of Vera prize from our local store so that was my January item).
On sale, I've bought the tea towel in Canyon, the potholder set in Canyon, and the hatbox cosmetic in Doodle Daisy.

  4. I usually only buy one new bag after a new release. I was drooling over Plum Crazy since you posted pictures last year. What I wasn't expecting when I got there was to fall in love with MB! So I took advantage of the handbag exchange (at 2 locations). Here's what I got: PC Saddle Up (20% off), PC hair elastics, MB Glenna (20% off), MB Kiss 'n Snap Wallet & VVB Braided headband. Free gifts I received were: PC sunglass shaped nailfile & IP eyeglass cleaner cloth in pouch.

I'm really going to try to cut back on my Vera spending this year. With so many new releases and patterns retiring unless I'm in love with a pattern I think I'll be waiting for sales in the future.

    1. Same here. I am not going to buy as much. My goal is just one bag for my birthday in Tutti Frutti in July and/or when we go on vacation...

  5. I am right there with you guys. I have made a 2013 resolution to spend half of what I spent last year on Vera Bradley. I would appreciate any tips you can post in a blog. At the spring launch I exchanged a Christmas gift for a Two Way Tote in Jazzy Blooms, bought a Glenna in Plum Crazy with the 20% off handbag donation, lastly I bought a Petite Tote in Dogwood at full price. Using a tip you gave me in the past I called the Vera Outlets and bought a Villager in Tea Garden. I also bought on New Years Eve and got a Mandy in Mocha Rouge and a Bangle in Paisley Meets Plaid. VB does have a lot of changes and launches and it is difficult to keep up.

    1. Stop yourself:) :) You are one lucky lady to have bought so much so early on in 2013. Better pace yourself now. Good luck!

  6. I picked up a bowler in Midnight Blues at the new VB store here in Fort Worth during the trade-in. I've only paid full price for maybe three or four small items the last few years. You just have to be a little patient and wait for a sale somewhere. Ebay can also help. And be sure to sign up for emails; they are pretty good about giving you a heads up on sales.
