Vera Bradley Summer 2012 Preview - Priscilla Pink, Summer Cottage, Doodle Daisy & Limes Up

Vera Bradley is debuting colors and retiring them so quickly it is making my head spin! I feel like it was just yesterday that I was posting photos from Spring 2012

Vera Bradley had an online survey last week and here are the photos of the colors.  This is our first look at the colors, I can't wait to see them in person!

Up first we have Summer Cottage: A sweet and dainty pattern expressing the lush foliage of summer.  Pretty petals and leaves in fresh shades of red, white, blue, yellow and green create a nostalgic, dreamy feel. So airy and light you can almost feel the summer breeze.

Limes Up: A traditional wood block application in refreshed with bold florals and stirred up by a monochromatic pallet of intense green and turquoise. Deep black accents on a white background complement the primal aesthetic of this print.

Priscilla Pink: Oversized foliage dripping in line and kelly green against contrasting hot pink.  Energetic leaves and florals create a traditional motif in unlikely brights.

Doodle Daisy: Zizags, diamonds, triangles, and linear formations create a primitive feel on a playful assemblage of oversized blooms. Tonal water hues of blues and greens doodle away on these whimsical motifs.

You can click here to see another post with more photos from the in store preview.

The Summer 2012 colors release March 22, 2012.

 What color is your favorite?

  2. It is crazy, I've barely digested the new FALL colors and here we are at Summer 2012 already... anyway, I think I really like the color scheme for Summer Cottage. It reminds me of Happy Snails but a bit brighter overall. Doodle Daisy could be nice too, though I think I'd have to see it in person. The others I'm not too keen on.

  4. Hmm, on first glance I wasn't super wild about any of these colors... I'm in a fall mindset I guess so it's hard to absorb the brightness!! Summer Cottage and Priscilla pink have potential, but I don't feel like I will HAVE to get them... hmm. Anyway, thanks for posting them! Do you feel like VB is getting really bright??

  5. Doodle Daisy ~ but I'm just not into summer at the moment! Looking forward to fall.

  6. The designs are all so similar (floral), just different colors. I am not crazy about any of them, which will save me some money. But if I had to choose, I guess I prefer Limes Up. Thanks for posting the pictures!

  7. I really like Priscilla Pink! I'm not too sure how hubby will be though haha. I'm not crazy about the others though BUT I have said that before when I see just pics of them. I have changed my mind plenty of times after seeing them in person. Looking forward to seeing the others in person.

  8. Still not likin the new winter, spring, or summer colors! Actually, that is good! Then I won't spend more money! Still loving Raspberry Fizz and Mocha Rouge!

  9. I was hoping that Doodle Daisy would be my favorite, as daisies are my favorite flower, but I am all over Limes Up! Had Vera Bradley paired daisies with the Limes Up color scheme, I'd have bought everything in that pattern. I guess it's for the best that VB didn't, because I'll do enough damage with the Limes Up pattern as it is.

  10. Must every new pattern be floral? What happened to the interesting non floral patterns from a few years ago? Can't help feeling there is a whole segment of VB buyers that the company is neglecting. I like flowers as much as the next person, but there are so many other designs that could be used on their handbags. - PJ

  11. I like the Doodle Daisy and Limes Up. But, I was really hoping for a non-floral print in the mix this go round.

  12. Yay, finally, I like ALL of them! Spring 2011 was last time I liked all. Don't like the upcoming Winter and Spring at all! Anyway, I think all the colors are bright and fun, and especially love the LIMES UP!!! :o) Can't wait!

  13. I like the new colors...not completely in love with them just yet!! I would like some paisleys though. I think there should also be a Christmas pattern too. I'd rock it all December long! :0)

  14. Does anyone know when sig stores will preview these colors?

  15. I'm not loving any of these. I'm most excited to see Ellie Blue next spring. :)

  18. I agree.... I just started using a Plum Petals bag this past weekend and already spring 2012. I am going to the Be Colorful event in October with my Mom in Chicago (where I live) and hoping to see new stuff!

I'm waiting for an ipad holder... but I'm thinking I might just get some vera vera collection stuff... keep it solid colors. Hoping nothing I LOVE - SIH, VBP, retire anytime soon... I can't keep up!

  19. Have to agree with some of the other posters, these are too bright and too floral, almost like a parody of Vera Bradley. On the other hand, I'm a Barcelona kind of gal, so maybe it's just me.

Speaking of retiring patterns, Sheri, I heard SIH will be part of the next round of retirements, but the up side will be that you will be able to get a discount!

  20. :-(

All my travel stuff... duffle, get carried away, weekender, grand traveler, trip kit, and about 15 other styles are SIH.

What else is going in next round??

  21. I want to know what will be gone next, too!! I don't like ANY of the new winter, spring, or summer colors! I think that is good, though.....then I won't buy as much! I think Symphony in Hue will go soon because it has been around for a while. Hope some of my favorites stay! I couldn't decide what would be worse-to love a color that is a normal color and only buy a few things or love a sale color and buy a ton of it! I also surprised myself- the online outlet had a zip sunglasses case in Raspberry Fizz and I held back and didn't buy it!

  22. I heard the colors that are going to be retired in the winter are Buttercup, Night and Day, and Twirly Birds Pink. I don't think they should retire Night and Day, I think it's good to have a black and white pattern. Not everyone can pull off some of the really bright patterns. :)

  23. I really like Summer Cottage! Limes Up is nice too. I would really like to see Doodle Daisy close up - it looks nice, but I'd love to see the detail. Will most likely be getting Summer Cottage first though!

  24. Awwwww.......I will miss some of those colors! My favorite color is pink but surprisingly I only have one thing in Twirly Birds Pink! I think they should retire
Very Berru Paisley. It isn't one of my favorites!

  26. Wow, it is hard to think of summer 2012 already, but Vera Bradley has! I have to say that I have not felt compelled to go out and buy any of the winter 2011 patterns or either of the 2012 previews for the spring or summer months. I don't know if Vera Bradley has new designers creating the styles and patterns, but from the patterns I have seen from the winter 2011 collection and the previews for the spring/summer 2012 collection, I have to say I am disappointed!

Yes, there was one or two patterns out of these three collections that I might possibly consider purchasing a small accessory in if I get tempted, because I really do love my Vera.. but, there honestly is not one pattern that I am in love with and have to have. I know I will have to see them in person to know for sure... but I am really doubting it at this point.

So many of these patterns out of these three collections have big florals. What's with the florals?!! I never noticed it, until I read another's comment, but there really has been a lot of florals!

I know everyone has a different taste, and I know there are some buyers who probably love these patterns. I personally find that they lack the detail, richness, originality, and quality of design that previous collections have shared. I just think some of these patterns lost the uniqueness that Vera Bradley has become so known for. These patterns just don't look like Vera Bradley. Like I said, I know there are some people who really do like these patterns. I am sure there are people who absolutely hate the patterns that I really like. It just seems to me that they are all alike. Even though they are different, it seems like the winter 2011 collection, and the spring/summer collection are all coming from the same mindset or same starting point. Where's the inspiration and autonimity?

  27. Thanks for posting these pictures for us all to see! This is awesome that we can preview patterns this far in advance!

  28. It is hard to tell, but Doodle Daisy might be cute in smaller items.

  29. Priscilla Pink is my have for Summer 2012, though also like the "patriotism" of Summer Cottage and surprisingly I like the Doodle Daisy, even though I don't like usually like blue at all. But my absolute favorite coming up is Rosy Posies in Spring 2012. Can't wait for that!

  30. In my opinion, the Summer 2012 patterns are very similar to former patterns. Summer Cottage, looks like Happy Snails, Limes Up, to the Spring 2012, Priscilla Pink to the Raspberry Frizz and Doodle Daisy the colors are just like Symphony in blue or Rhythm and Blues. Personally, Vera Bradley should have one floral, one geometric design, one paisley, and a small animal with a design. Also, the same color combinations should not be always used. A small pattern would look nice too! The ones for the summer are too bold and you start to loose the pattern in the items. The designers should listen to your public and go back to the drawing board to create new designs.

  31. A cute idea pattern for the summer would be mini flip flops with mini beach balls and umbrellas. the background could be a tan color or a light blue background!

  32. ok, limes up has got to be the best all-time VB pattern! i will definately be getting bags in that pattern! doodle daisy is cute too and i will probably get one or two bags in that pattern. summer cottage looks a lot like happy snails, though i think i like it better. I absoulutely Hate priscilla pink and will never be getting a bag in that pattern ever! but over all, i love summer 2012! Do you know what the new bags will be?

    ReplyDelete
  33. happy that the Frannie bag will still be there in summer! i love that bag and its in all three of my fav summer 2012 prints!

  34. I like Priscilla Pink I barely have time to get to know any of the patterns before new ones are coming out!

  35. These get more hideous with each new season. Plus these are way too similar to other prints from the past. They desperately need a new design team!

  37. I am getting something in Summer Cottage tonight.
I think that is gonna be my favorite out of the 4 colors

  38. anonymous 41, which store is that? i would love to see these patterns ASAP!

  39. anonymous 35, I think you are a little confuse with your comparing of the patterns, one doesn't even exist and, let me just say, that I've seen both Priscilla Pink, and Raspberry Fizz in person and, while they are both pink they aren't similar at all. I'm guessing you're are more of a fall or winter pattern person, maybe what's in style this summer just isn't your style. Either way I'm sure they'll come up with something you like more in one of their next collections. Besides, that just means less money you'll be spending on Vera for the next season or two. I'm sure that even if they tried really hard to give all of their customers a favorite patern for each collections they still wouldn't succeed.

  40. The spring color island bloom and summer color lime up are exciting to see.. I love a lot of patterns. I have to disagree that patterns are similar each one is unique in there own way. I have had people tell me that my happy snails vera bag is ugly... I love it.. months later they love the bag. I have so many bags and patterns that satisfy my taste for the day. Besides the fact that at work I have gotten over 6 coworkers buying vera.. Every new pattern is charming and I already have ideas on what I want and cant wait to get it.... Does anyone happen to know when the spring colors come out?

  41. I love Limes Up! I can't wait for the summer colors to release this spring.

I believe the Spring 2012 colors are releasing sometime this month in January.

  42. i am not impressed with any of the new colors for 2012. and i am a very big vera person. have too many bags for my own good in fact. i think the fall 2012 is the most interesting. i agree with most of the negative comments...too many new colors coming too fast and too many florals. will have to see in person to decide.

  43. Can't wait for these to come out!! I LOVE limes up!! Doodle daisy and summer cottage are pretty too. I don't really like priscilla pink, its not really my cup of tea.
