Vera Bradley Spring 2012 Preview - Island Blooms, Rosy Posies, Camellia, Ellie Blue

Vera Bradley is having their Spring 2012 preview right now at some of Signature Stores!  I was so excited to go check out the new colors and see what they looked like in person.  This time around they are previewing the colors in the following styles: All In One, Carry It All, Eloise, Get Carried Away, Mini Hipster, On The Go, Saddle Up, Small Cosmo, Tote & Zip ID.  I picked up a Zip Id in Island Blooms for myself. I love the bright color, reminds me of San Diego and Hawaii!  I picked up a Ellie Blue Tote for my Mom for her birthday (Love the Elephants!!).  She knows it is coming though :)

I was glad to see that I liked the colors better in person.  I might be tempted to pick up some more Island Blooms or Ellie Blue later on.

Check out the video I made of the new colors!!  Enjoy!

  3. Sadly, I am still not liking any of them!!!! Right now I want all the Raspberry Fizz I can buy!!! I also lime Mocha Rouge. I am not in love with the winter colors, either!! Which ones will retire next?

  4. If you want to find older patterns, the Vera Bradley outlets are the best place. Raspberry Fizz was very popular, so consignment shops/goodwill/thrift stores would likely have bags in that pattern, if you don't mind buying used.

My guess for the next retiring patterns are: Slate Blooms, Barcelona, Hello Dahlia, Twirly Birds Navy. I've seen fewer and fewer of those in the store, although I personally like Barcelona.

  5. Thanks!! I like Hello Dahlia, I will miss it!! Hope Twirly Birds Pinn stays around!! I would love to go to an outlet or outlet sale, but they are too far away!! There are a few Raspberry Fizz items on verabradley.com and I hope to get both the Betsy and Brush and Pencil!! Save them for me, everyone!! I would LOVE a Morgan in Raspberry Fizz (new) but I can't find one anywhere!

  6. Twirly Birds Pink will stay around until there is another pattern for the Vera Bradley Foundation. I don't know if any of the Winter 2011 or Spring 2012 patterns are in the running for that. Maybe Tea Garden or Rosy Posies.

I think the Morgan is a discontinued style, so it might be hard to find new. The outlets did have a sale on the Morgan recently. Have you looked at the Angle Tote? From what I recall, it has similar styling. Alison, do you still have the video of your Angle Tote?

  7. Alison,

Are the timestamps on your blog posts and comments still West Coast time?

  8. I already have the Pleated Tote, so I don't know if I would want another. I do love it, though! I just used it as an overnight bag and it worked great!

  9. I also previewed these at my local retailer this week. What a wonderful treat! I love the Island Blooms. It reminds me of a stained-glass window. The prin/design inside is new for Vera Bradley. Camillia is great to wear with the basic colors of black & khaki I wear often. Rosey Posey reminds me a lot of Raspberry Fizz.

  10. Does anyone know when they stopped making the bucket tote? I love the style and length of the straps. Any suggestions for something like that style (fit wise). I have the VB addiction as well.

  11. Sarah,

I was thinking you might like the Angle Tote because it had a similar pocket style to the Morgan and is only a little larger. Here's Alison's video:

    Renee,

I have seen the Bucket Tote in colors as recent as Sitting in a Tree and Loves Me, but never in Simply Violet or Call me Coral, so I would guess that summer of last year is when they stopped making it. I don't have a Bucket Tote, but it looks like the dimensions are 13.5 x 11 x 4.5 inches, with a strap drop of about 12 inches. That's about the same size as the regular Tote, so if you are going for size I would try that. If what you are looking for is the "scoop top" style of the Bucket Tote, the Pleated Tote has the same styling of the straps, but the Pleated Tote's strap drop is a little shorter, 10.5 inches, and it is bigger at 14.75 x 14 x 5.25 inches. Hopefully one of these will get you close to what you want!

  12. I think I will hold off on the angle tote. I have a lot of Veras already, and I already want four more things for my birthday! I think I will wait since I already have my pleated tote.

  15. I am so sad right now! The Brush and Pencil in Raspberry Fizz is sold out! :( I wanted to wait until my birthday In September to get the Brush and Pencil and Betsy in Raspberry Fizz, but seeing how fast the Brush and Pencil sold out, I just ordered the Betsy! Can't wait to get my package! My mom also got the 100 Handbag in Plum Petals because it was only $29 dollars today! (her Handbag in Totally Turq is looking a little ratty because she uses it so much!) I love Vera Bradley!!

  19. Sarah,

Keep checking the Vera Bradley website from time to time. Patterns from the past occasionally appear after being gone for months. In the last month I have seen Kensington, Mod Floral Blue, Mod Floral Pink, Pink Cupcakes and Green Cupcakes show up.

Also, f you like Raspberry Fizz, you might like Sherbert as well.
